CIMA Introduces new Prudential Information Survey for SIBA registered persons

Back To Listing

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has launched a new mandatory regulatory filing known as the Prudential Information Survey. This requirement applies to all entities registered as SIBA Registered Persons under the Securities Investment Business Act (As Revised). This includes investment managers, investment advisers, broker dealers, and securities managers and securities arrangers.

The survey must be completed and submitted by 31 March 2026.

What you need to know

The Prudential Information Survey forms part of CIMA’s ongoing regulatory oversight and supervision of the securities investment business sector. It covers the reporting period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 and is designed to collect information on:

• Business activities and operations
• Financial exposures
• Risk profile and structure of SIBA Registered Persons

The information provided will assist CIMA in monitoring sector-wide risks and strengthening regulatory oversight.

How to file

The survey must be submitted electronically through the CIMA REEFs portal, and no CIMA filing fees apply. Registered Persons are encouraged to ensure their REEFs access is active well in advance of the deadline to avoid last-minute delays.

Please note that this survey does not replace the Annual Declaration. The Annual Declaration must still be filed separately via the REEFs portal by 15 January 2026 for the same reporting period.

Guidance available

CIMA has published an official REEFs Form Completion Guide: Prudential Information Survey for Registered Persons to assist with completing the filing. Reviewing this guidance in advance will help ensure accurate and complete submission.
